Since the weather has become warmer I've been wanting to be outside more. R and I have been cooped up all winter long and we are ready for some fresh air. I've been telling Malachi that we need to find a park so we can find our cool hang out spot for the summer. So Saturday we decided to find one and see if we liked it. On Saturday morning Malachi gets on Google and finds a park about ten minutes away from our house, so after R's afternoon nap we pack up some lunch and go on our way. As we pull up to the park we are shocked at how perfect it is. It has a huge open space to go walking, picnicking, or playing in and it has a playground and a dog park all in the same area. It is also placed right next to the water. Beautiful. So we go find the perfect spot and lay out our blanket and have our little picnic. I didn't pack any food for R but he did get to try out his sippy cup for the first time. Very exciting stuff. After our picnic is started to get chilly so we walked around for a little while longer and then went home. But once it really starts to get warm and stays warm, little R and I will be hanging out at the park often.
Here are some pictures from our little picnic adventure!

Food, Glorious Food
Well today R 'officially' started solids!
We are using the Baby Led Weaning approach. It is really great and for us, the perfect way to start solid foods. Instead of feeding R through a spoon, we just give him the food in its original form to explore with and taste. At this point he really isn't eating because he doesn't know how to use his mouth muscles to chew and swallow, so right now he just sucks and bites on the food and spits it back out. I think this is great. It helps him to love so many different foods so he won't be picky. Plus he is in control. We won't be dictating when he is full or hungry. I will provide him with a few different foods to choose from but he ultimately decides what he wants to eat. I believe this will help him to develop good eating habits. You should google it to learn more about Baby Led Weaning.
Today Malachi and I had chicken and dumplings so we gave R carrots, celery, and some chicken to try. He LOVED it. I can tell he is going to be a good food lover!

New look, New blog
I've decided to change my blog. It is now going to have more of a purpose than just writing whatever random thought I have that day. Who wants to read about me? So now my blog is going to be about little R and all his little adventures. That is much better :-)
It's been a long long time
But I'm officially back. I'm going to try to post at least once a week now. But now that I am on here I have no idea what to write about. And I don't want to write a post on not knowing what to write about.
Well...first I guess I will update you on the little life of R. You will not believe how big he has gotten. He plays by himself now. Not for long periods of time but 30 minutes is better than not being able to play by himself at all. He rolls now too. Today I went to kiss Malachi goodbye and I look over at R and he is across the room just staring at me. How he got all the way over there in a few seconds I don't know...but he is officially on the go now! I got to keep a close eye on him now!
I hate day light savings. I used to hate it because I lost an hour but now I hate it because I lost an hour and R's schedule is all messed up. You just don't mess up a baby's schedule. You just don't.
What Not To Wear is on so I'm going :-)

It's been a while
I've kinda been taking a break from the internet. I'll get on for a few minutes a day and then got off and got on with my day. It has kinda been refreshing. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep updating my blog. What do you think?
