This weekend was no exception.

Roman got a new play gym, I guess that is what you would call it. It is a little pirate ship with a steering wheel, a rock climbing wall, a slide, and a telescope. Everyday we have been out climbing, sliding, steering, and taking pictures (because that is what telescopes do...duh!) I love that the first thing Roman wants to do is go outside...rain or shine. So many of my childhood memories happened out in the fresh air, and that is what I want for my children as well.

Valentine's Day was this past Tuesday and Malachi and I had to postpone our Valentine's celebration till Saturday. Malachi works evenings so we couldn't go out that day, although he did have a delicious Valentine's lunch waiting for me when I got home from MOP's. We also exchanged gifts (we gave ourselves a challenge to only spend five dollars on each other...I got Bridget Jone's Diary and he got a plant). So our date night (first date night in 3 1/2 months!!!!) happened Saturday evening after this kids were put to bed. My sister-in-law came over and we went out to Tradewind's restaurant. Malachi and I have been going there for Valentine's day for five years now. And we only go once a year to make it really special. It is a little hole in the wall restaurant that serves amazing Italian food. We were so excited! We had looked at their menu earlier that day and picked out what we were going to have. When we arrived Malachi went ahead and ordered for us. Our appetizer was amazing and then came the pizza. We were going to get a spicy pizza with hot capricola sausage, but the pizza that was placed in front of us was a vegetable pizza with artichokes, mushrooms, green peppers, and black olives. You may be salivating and say "well...what is wrong with that?" Considering the only thing I liked on that pizza was green peppers it was sort of a problem. Turns our Malachi ordered the wrong pizza (they all have such fancy names) and we got a pizza only he would like. I was willing to scrape everything off I didn't like and eat it that way, but my husband, being the great man that he is, put that pizza in a box and ordered a pizza I would like. So when we came home that night, we came home with one and a half pizzas. Malachi has been eating pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the last few days! But all in all it was a wonderful date. We came home and watched Bridget Jone's Diary and ate cannollis.
It was a wonderful weekend and I'm ready for this weeks little adventures!TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-86419533387003544102012-02-18T07:04:00.000-08:002012-02-18T07:04:57.244-08:00Has it really been 6 months????So I seem to like to not update for 6 months and then start blogging again. It really doesn't feel like it has been 6 months. Time goes by way too fast. It is so precious and we don't even realize it. So many times we want to fast forward and get to something we are looking forward to and then we miss all the beautiful little things that happen each and everyday. Everyday is beautiful and we need to soak it all in because every minute that passes by is a minute we will never have again.
So much has happened to our family in the past 6 months! Roman turned two, he went trick or treating for the first time, and we welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Adelai, into the world. The past 3 1/2 months with her in our lives has been wonderful. She is the perfect addition to our little family. Roman is wonderful big brother and she already adores him. I can't wait to watch them grow up together. My everyday life is so busy but so wonderful. They constantly keep me on my toes!
God has blessed me so richly and I thank Him for each and every day he gives me!
Here are a few pictures from the last 6 months
It was a successful month at that. I am excited about bringing my cookbooks back out but I will still use recipes that I find on Pinterest (because there are soooo many good ones!)

Meal #1: Tuscan Pasta with Tomato Basil Cream Sauce

Malachi was the culinary artist behind this meal. I started chopping everything up to start cooking but Roman was getting one of his two year molars and all he wanted was his mommy. So I went and sat on the couch and snuggled with my little man so my big man cooked dinner for us. And my man can cook! It was delicious! We will be making this again!!!

Meal #2: Stuffed Zucchini Cups

Roman hated this meal! Lately he has been boycotting anything green, so there was a bit of a battle to get him to take a few bites of this. He loved the stuffing though. Malachi and I both loved it. Really...can you go wrong with anything stuffed with meat and cheese? The one thing about this recipe is that is makes SO many leftovers of the stuffing. So what I did was mixed the stuffing with elbow noodles, topped with mozzarella cheese to make a casserole. It was yummy...and Roman liked that since it didn't have any of that yucky green stuff in it!

Meal #3: Tortellini Spinach Bake in Creamy Lemon Sauce

I wish I could say this dish was amazing...but it wasn't. There was nothing wrong with it...my husband really liked it...but I don't think I will make it again. I think the main thing I didn't like about it was the tortellini. I'm not a big tortellini kind of girl. I think it tastes kind of funny. I would much rather have ravioli!

Meal #4: Jalapeno, Sausage, Jack, Egg Breakfast Braid

I know they say this is for breakfast but we had it for dinner and it was amazing!!! Wasn't spicy enough for this spicy craving pregnant gal, buuuut it was still amazing! It was super easy to make as well. So that is a huge plus with this huge pregnant gal!

Meal #5: Crispy Onion Chicken

This was a yummy light meal. It needed a little extra flavor so we ended up dipping the chicken in some honey mustard (which it was also coated in while it cooked) I wasn't amazed by this dish but it was good, healthy, and easy.

Meal #7: Slow Cooker Coconut Chicken Curry

If you do not make this...then you are CRAZY! It was my favorite of this batch of recipes! I kept eating and eating and eating this stuff! If I go into my doctors appointment tomorrow and have gained wayyyyy too much weight...I will know why!

Breakfast: Cinnamon Sugar French Toast

Just look at those! Don't they look tasty! They were pretty quick and easy to make as well. I made too many for just me and Roman to eat so I froze the rest of them and the heated them up a few days later and they were just as good as the day I made them. I will be making these again!

Dessert: Nutella Cookies

Okay...so these cookies are made with four ingredient. Four. Super easy and the recipe doesn't make that many cookies which is good since I am a sugar addict!

So that wraps up Pinterest month...but each month I'm going to do a post of pictures of the food I made that month and share recipes!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful August!
Thirty weeks. It seems like such a big number. I remember when I was ten weeks and that was twenty weeks ago! How time flies! I'm ready (but not really ready) for my little girl to get here. I'm ready to hold her in my arms and kiss whenever I want. I'm ready to memorize her perfect little face. I'm ready to introduce her to her big brother. I'm ready to see my husband fall in love with her. I'm just ready! But I still have a lot to do in ten weeks. I need to finish Roman's room and then move him in there (along with transitioning him into a big boy bed...not looking forward to that). I need to finish Adelai's nursery. I need to finish buying all the little baby girl necessities we need. I need to buy Roman a whole new fall/winter wardrobe. I need to do a lot in ten weeks time. Which will, I'm sure, make it fly by even faster.
I can't wait for you to see the both of their rooms when they are done.
Here is the before picture of Roman's new big boy room:

Here is the before picture of Adelai's nursery.

I'm sorry the rooms are such a mess. The nursery has been cleaned since this picture was taken but I don't want to have to go take another picture.

But yes...thirty weeks. I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore to be honest. This pregnancy has been a lot harder on me than Roman's was. With Roman I really didn't start to feel pregnant until I was like thirty-six weeks pregnant, but with this one I have felt pregnant the whole time. Seriously...if you go look at a pregnancy book and look at the symptoms you might feel through-out...I feel like I have all the ones from the book! Today I couldn't even walk until around two in the afternoon because I was in so much pain. I feel sick to my stomach everyday. And I'm tired all the time. But I just keep telling myself that it is all worth it and it won't last forever. Ten more weeks and then I shall not be pregnant anymore!

TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-51061139540988313062011-08-13T19:14:00.000-07:002011-08-13T19:14:59.607-07:00Thank you Pinterest- Part 1So as I mentioned before, this month I am only trying new recipes that I find on Pinterest. It so far has been wonderful! Everything I've made has been delicious. For our first batch of meals we did theme nights. Started out with Mexican night and ended in Asian night. Some of the meals were very time consuming (especially for this swollen little pregnant person) but all very worth it. We just went grocery shopping and all the meals I have planned for from Pinterest are a bit easier and not as time consuming as the ones I just made. Being on my feet for two hours can take it out of me! Especially with my huge belly. But this huge belly certainly appreciated everything I put in it so I can't really complain!

Meal #1: Jalepano Popper Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
So I know this really doesn't go with our theme idea, but I was tired this day and wanted something easy. Plus I mean...we love jalapeno poppers and grilled cheese sandwiches...so there was no way we could go wrong with this recipe! It was amazing!

I omitted the chips and next time I will leave some of the seeds in the jalapeno because it was not spicy enough for me (and this pregnancy is making me crave spicy!

Meal #2: Chicken Enchiladas and Homemade Salsa
So our first night was Mexican themed and it was amazing. The enchiladas were one of those things that were very time consuming to make so Roman missed out on them since they weren't ready till after he went to bed. But Malachi and I had a little impromptu date night. We found some Mariachi band music and had a wonderful Mexican meal. Plus may I mention that I made homemade salsa! I was pretty proud of myself! I will never buy store bought salsa again!

I forgot to add the cumin in the salsa but it delicious just the same. And be prepared...this recipe makes a lot of salsa!

Meal #3: Gyros and Greek Pasta Salad
Malachi was super excited about this meal. He loves Greek food. Loves it. We have both been wanted gyros for a while now but didn't know of any good Greek restaurants around here so why not make them. I was pretty nervous about trying to make them myself since I figured it was one of those things you only eat out but I went for it and I'm glad I did. They were very good. My husband looked like he died and went to heaven while he was eating it! Which makes every moment spent in the kitchen worth it! This was also a time consuming meal to make and I will not lie...making the meat for the gyros was nasty. You have to made a meat paste...so yes...gross. But worth it in the end. I don't think I will attempt this one again for a very loooong time, but I'm glad I did it.

Meal #4: Basil Fondue and Chicken and Bow Ties
I love Italian food so I knew nothing could go wrong with this meal! I changed the fondue from pesto to basil. I followed the recipe except for adding the nuts. I left those out so it was more of a basil fondue than a pesto fondue but it was amazing! I could only have a tiny serving of the pasta because I ate so much fondue! One thing I will do differently next time is cut up the sun dried tomatoes into smaller pieces instead of leaving them in strips. They were too overpowering for me as strips. But other than that is was delicious!

Meal #5: Buffalo wings and Fried Pickles
I was going to make these Buffalo Chicken Bites but I was having a rough pregnancy day and I was tired so my husband decided to make dinner for us. So instead of the complicated 'bites' he made some homemade buffalo wings. They hit the spot! They were super spicy and delicious! I am not ashamed to say that all three of us were covered in buffalo sauce by the end of the meal. Malachi also made fried pickles. And really...can you go wrong with fried pickles? No...I didn't think so!

Meal #6: Mongolian Beef
Alright...so without knowing it I saved the best for last. This recipe was SO good that I not only had it for dinner, I had it for dessert and for lunch the next day. And sadly it is all gone! I will be making this again sometime soon!

I did use pre-cut stir fry meat for the store but that is all I changed in the recipe.

After every meal Malachi tells me he is so happy that I have found Pinterest and he thinks I should keep using it! So I think I shall! Roman has been inspired by Pinterest too!

Keep a look out for part 2!TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-17134594232980144332011-08-08T17:36:00.000-07:002011-08-08T17:36:40.732-07:00Takin' it easyI am starting to get to the point of my pregnancy where I am going to have to start taking it easy. Lately I have been go go go and it is taking a toll on my body. One day I went to the gym and then ran a ton of errands and ended up having some pretty painful contractions throughout the day. And the next two days I kept just as busy and at the end of the night my whole entire body hurt. Malachi has been getting on to me to slow down and I always agree with him, but it is easier said than done. I have SO much to do all the time I feel like! Which is all in my head. I feel like I have to go to the gym three days a week to stay healthy. Malachi asks me why I don't just take it easy at the gym but to me that seems like an oxymoron. I feel like I need to break a sweat. Especially since my goal this time around is to only gain 35-40 pounds. With Roman I gained 60...yes...60 pounds! So that is why I have been 'gyming' it up so much. But I have caved and I am going to start slowing things down at the gym and in all other areas in my life. The last three days Roman and I have locked ourselves in the house (other than running to the library, but that really doesn't count). I'll admit it has been really nice. I felt a little peakish yesterday since I was cooking all day (which I'm so excited about sharing with you all but that is for another day!). So for my health and my daughter's health I am going to take it easy.TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-22560567998623026282011-07-28T15:51:00.000-07:002011-07-28T15:51:29.626-07:00In between the rainThe last couple days have been nothing but rain. I miss my Florida sunshine. We keep scrambling to find things to do, but with an almost two year old, it can be pretty tricky to keep him entertained. On sunny days we have plenty to do: we play in our backyard, we go to the beach, we go to the park, and countless other fun outdoor activities. But since we are stuck inside all day we are sticking to watching movies. I wish we had more indoor playgrounds or fun places to take a toddler to on rainy days. But since we live in sunny Florida, most everything is outdoors. I almost cried when I looked at the weather forecast and saw that it is expected to rain for the rest of the week. Not only for Roman's sake but for mine. I always feel so blah on these kinds of days. I thrive in the sun! I think when Malachi and I settle down somewhere it is going to have to be somewhere that is warm and sunny all year round! When Roman wakes up from his nap I may let him play outside if it isn't storming or raining too hard. Who says a little rain isn't good for you???
Snuggling with Daddy

In other news, I am 26 weeks pregnant today! Adelai is now around 2 pounds...they say she is around the size of an eggplant. My pregnancy calendar told me I am 2/3s done with this pregnancy. Which is insane! I just found out we were pregnant like....yesterday! Where is all this time gone? This time around time is going by a lot faster, but it is probably because I am chasing a 22 month old around all the time. I am so glad that my first pregnancy was the easy one and this one is the harder one. If my first one was hard I think I would have sat around and moped all the time. But with Roman I have no time to think about the pain or how sick I feel. I have to be strong for him. It is amazing how having children makes you a harder-working person.

I am so happy about starting a new month. This past month was kind of tight budget wise, but in August it is going back to normal. I will have money to put more of Roman's big boy room together and I'm looking forward to that. This week I am going to take pictures of the nursery and Roman's big boy room so that you can see the transformation happen. I never really got to decorate Roman's nursery in this house because when we moved in, Malachi and I went on our honeymoon, I went out of town to visit my parents, and then I got pregnant and sick...so needless to say the room is pretty sad looking. But that will all change in the next few months!

Have you ever heard of Pinterest? It is amazing! It is a place where you kind find all kinds of inspiration for anything you can think of. I use it for party ideas, holiday ideas, recipe ideas, decorating ideas, hair ideas, and so many other things. In August I am going to do a month of Pinterest for our dinners. My mouth just waters thinking about it! I will take pictures of everything I make and share them with you! I am making some pretty amazing looking dishes!

But now I am off to finish dinner! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-34082925011363849622011-07-20T13:06:00.000-07:002011-07-20T13:07:47.221-07:00How to make the best banana bread...EVER!I loooove banana bread. It is actually dangerous when I make it because I could sit down and eat a whole loaf in one sitting...well maybe not....but actually yes I could! I have tried a few different recipes over the years but the one I have kept going back to is the banana bread recipe from the Better Homes and Garden Cookbook. Many of our favorite recipes come from this cookbook. It was the cookbook I was required to own before I married Malachi. It was the cookbook his mother used as he was growing up, so I had to have it so I could cook from it as well. But back to banana bread...whenever using this recipe the bread always turns out moist and rich. What more could you want???

Whenever I'm feeling like banana bread I always buy more bananas than I know we will eat so they can go deliciously bad. I never tell Malachi of my plan because he always complains that all my baking is going to make him fat! Which I take as a compliment! But as a pregnant lady I have the right to bake whenever my little heart desires!
So to make this aaaamazing banana bread you must start out with 5 medium, disgustingly-delicious ripe bananas.

And I find it always helps to have a little helper around whenever you need him.

In a large bowl you mix all your dry ingredients together: 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon (I am extra generous with the cinnamon), and 1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg.

Next in a medium bowl combine 2 eggs, your mashed bananas, 1 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup cooking oil.

Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture.

Have your helper mix the mixture till the batter is moistened and lumpy.

Spoon batter into a well greased 9x5 loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes in the oven set at 350 degrees.

Once it is finished let it cool for 10 minutes in the pan and then let it finish cooling outside the pan and voiala...you have beautiful, delicious banana bread!
TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-21190512079990922452011-07-15T19:01:00.000-07:002011-07-15T19:01:47.451-07:00Our week*My pictures are way too big again. I will keep working on it!*

You have to love Florida summers! Everyday we have one or two thunderstorms roll through, which is not necessarily a bad thing till you have a little almost two year old who hates being cooped up inside all day. Today we were only able to play outside for 15 minutes before we had to pack up because the storm was getting too close. And tomorrow, like every Saturday, I had planned on taking Roman to the park since Malachi has to work and Saturdays are normally slow for us, but I looked at the weather for tomorrow and it looks like it is going to be pretty bad. Maybe even all day. It is always hard to find things for a two year old to do all day. I am going to have to get creative! I need to get some coloring books, crayons, and other fun indoor activities. But we have to wait till we aren't so poor! And it isn't the fact that we are poor...it is we have so many medical bills to pay off that all our extra money is going towards those! Maybe tomorrow will be a pajama movie day. I'm praying the weather man is wrong and tomorrow is a beautiful day! We shall see!

Able to get both babies in the same picture!

We have had a busy but wonderful week! Monday and Tuesday were actually kind of slow. I was pretty sick...little baby Adelai has been making me pretty sick lately. So Roman and I played outside, hopped in the pool, and made the most of our time at home. Tuesday I made this amazing dish that I found on Pinterest! I had to tweak it a little bit but it still turned out amazing!

Thank you pioneer woman!!!

Wednesday we had some friends from church over and it was so much fun! I made turkey and artichoke stuffed shells from Giada's "Everyday Pasta" cookbook. Yum!!! One of my favorite recipes! So delicious! Roman loved it too! And for dessert I made a white chocolate, raspberry cake. I have to say...it was the UGLIEST cake I have ever made in my life!

I don't know what went wrong! I have made it before and it was beautiful so I am going to blame it on my pregnant brain. Malachi even drew eyes on it since it was so hideous! At least it tastes delicious!
Thursday we drove out to Panama City Beach to visit my sister-in-law and her precious baby boy! My nephew, George, is so tiny! He is five and a half weeks old and so precious! I was holding him trying to remember when Roman was that small! It is so crazy how fast my little man has grown. What is even crazier is that in about 16 weeks I am going to have a newborn like that around again!
Today I was finally able to get to the gym this week to only feel defeated and leave early. I was able to lift weights but once I got on the treadmill my body told me it was time to quit. I was hoping to get in a really good work out but I guess Adelai had other plans! I am very proud of myself though...I have only gained 15 pounds so far this pregnancy! My goal is to only gain 35-40 pounds so wish me luck! With Roman I gained 60...yes...60 pounds! And sure I was able to lose it pretty fast, but I've heard it is harder to lose the baby weight with each pregnancy, plus I just want to be healthier, so hopefully I will be able to keep it up!
But I am going to wrap this up and go spend some quality time with my husband dearest!
Everyone have a wonderful weekend!!TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-53196076408194693082011-07-09T18:31:00.000-07:002011-07-09T18:31:11.016-07:00The Joys of Motherhood*Before you read this...I am sorry that all the pictures are so big. I am still trying to figure out how to get the pictures to be the right size.*

I love being a stay at home mom! I really do. I can't imagine myself doing anything more than I am doing now. I feel so fulfilled being able to spend everyday with my little man. I am also blessed to have a husband who is willing to work so hard and sacrifice so much so that I can have the option of staying at home. We live without a lot of luxuries...but we are both fine with that.

When I first was a stay at home mom I was kind of embarrassed by the fact (I feel horrible saying that now). I know that sounds horrible or silly, but I thought people, especially other women, would look down on me. It didn't take me long to realize that that was not the case. A lot of women told me they were jealous of me! I was shocked...but then I realized how blessed I am. Some women want to stay home and just can't. What if I had to go to work? I would hate to leave my little baby behind. (And before I continue...I know some women choose to work because they want to. There is nothing wrong with that. It is just that my desire is to stay at home and I do not believe that it makes me better than the women who choose to work. It makes me different.)

Now...I will admit that there are some days that I wish I could get some grown up time and that is what play dates are for. I believe they are just as much for the adults as they are for the kids! Adult interaction is SO important. I learned this the hard way when we lived in Pensacola. I got out to do stuff with other people maybe 5 or 6 times the year we lived there. I was so lonely and I craved adult company. But now that we are back in our home town Roman and I are constantly having play dates. And it is good for both of us. Roman needs the company as well! As much as we love each other we need to sometimes see other people or we will drive each other crazy! And since moving back we have both made some wonderful new friends.
I was just telling my husband that I feel that I am constantly having to learn how to be a mother to Roman. When we first had him I had to learn how to be a mother to a newborn, then an infant, and now a toddler. All his stages are so different. Now that he is a toddler I am having to be more proactive in coming up with activities for him to do. If I don't have an activity planned for us he will either destroy the house (which really ends up happening no matter what I do!) or wanting to watch movies. And I hate that he wants to watch movies all the time. He got way too used to sitting down for a movie everyday when I had morning sickness (more like all day sickness) for the first 16 weeks I was pregnant with his sister. So to counter act that I try to keep him busy. We color, play outside, go to the park, play with play dough, or find other fun things to do. And I have to say I love playing with my son. It is like becoming a kid again! Finding joy in all the small things in life! Shrieking for joy when we see bubbles or laughing hysterically at silly sounds, it is those small things that can bring so much joy to our lives.

Malachi and I have constant entertainment having Roman around. We are constantly in hysterics over the things Roman does. Like just the other day he and Roman were playing in their pool and Malachi decided it need some more air in it. So there he is bent over blowing more air into our little green pool when Roman decides he has to help him out. So Roman bends over and starts blowing raspberries onto the pool thinking he is helping his daddy out. He went on blowing raspberries for a good couple of minutes while Malachi and I are crying from laughing so hard. And of course, being a ham just like his father, Roman continues until our sides ache because he knows how much we love it! I cannot imagine what my life would be like without my little man around!

So as I am sitting outside with both my boys after dinner tonight watching them play together with my hand on my belly feeling my daughter swim around, I think how content I am. I love my life and I wouldn't change anything about it.

I haven't even thought about it in these past six months, but today I had the sudden urge to just sit down and write. I don't even know what about. Life I guess.
Our lives have changed so much in the past six months. The last time I updated I mentioned that we moved back to our home town. My husband found a great job that worked better for our family and for his school. He now works as a CT tech on the midnight shift at the hospital five minutes from our house. Sure, it can be straining working that shift, but we get evenings with him and it gives him plenty of time to work on his B.S.

We are officially moved into the new house (new furniture and all...wahoo!) but we are having to make some major changes in the house! Right now we are redecorating our third bedroom to become Roman's new 'big boy' room, and once he is out of the room he is in now we are start decorating for the new addition to our family! That is right! We are expecting our second baby, who is due November 3rd. And instead of blue this time we are all pink! We are very excited about little girl coming into the world (me more than anyone because that means I won't be pregnant anymore...but that is a story for another time)! Roman says baby and will point to my belly and say 'bayee' but then he will turn around and point to his belly and say 'bayee' as well. So I think it is safe to say he isn't quite sure what is coming his way in a few months!

The one thing about having a little girl is that we are starting from scratch. Sure I bought all the big things like the crib, the changing table, the car seat, the stroller, and a few other things to work for both genders, but there is so much I still need for my little girl. She needs clothes, blankets, bedding, a swing, and a few other things that are going to make money a little tight around here, but of course it will all be worth it!

Roman has grown up so much in the past six months...everyday he is turning more into a big boy than my little baby. I keep throwing hissy fits about it but it doesn't change anything. He is going to keep getting bigger no matter what I do. And he loves being a big boy too. He has to do things all by himself and loves to help his mommy do everything, and the whole time he is talking as well. He talks and he talks and he talks. I can understand a little of what he says here and there, but most the time I just go with it! He must get talking all the time from me! My poor husband gets his ear talked off all the time.

But even with Roman growing up he is still a momma's boy and still loves his snuggles, which of course I love. He also loves his Daddy. There is no one who can make Roman laugh more than his Daddy. 'Dayeee' is his all time favorite word. When Malachi is sleeping during the day I can't mention the 'D' word or Roman will get super excited and start running towards our bedroom door to wake him up. I love watching them together...they are two peas in a pod! If Roman didn't have my eyes, my build, and my coloring I would swear I hardly contributed at all to his DNA!

But I have to say that our lives are pretty wonderful! I love my little family and I have set a goal to blog at least once a week from now on to keep everyone updated on our little family adventures, so hopefully I can be better at keeping this blog updated! Wish me luck!
My family came down to visit us this Christmas and my mom wanted me to get some pictures of my youngest sister, Priscilla. My parents don't have too many pictures of Priscilla because we older sisters kept my parents plenty busy. There is a fifteen year gap between Priscilla and me. Priscilla was brought into our family all those years ago when my parents traveled to China to get her. She was one of the best gifts our family could ever receive. She has brought so much joy and laughter into our house. I love her so much and am so happy to call her my sister.

TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-51684500558945763362010-12-13T17:47:00.000-08:002010-12-13T17:51:38.839-08:00I'm really bad about this whole blogging thingI really need to get better. How many times have I said this?

My little bugger has the stomach flu right now. He caught it from Daddy and now I'm worried I'm going to get it! I can't tell you how horrible it was to see him throw up like that! My heart hurt. He was so helpless and sad. I wish I had it so he didn't have to get it!

In happier news we are in our new house and we love it! We will be getting new furniture in January or February so I'm waiting to fully decorate the house till then! We have lived here for almost a year and I like it now. I feel like I have a good group of friends and I have now found some mommy friends with babies the same age as Roman. Which I think is important. I want Roman to grow up around other kids and have friends. I want him to be able to socialize starting at a young age. He is really at a age now where he enjoys other kids....of any age. We could be walking around a store and he is quiet till he sees another baby or kid and he will start bouncing up and down wanting them to come and play with him. I love seeing how excited he gets. He has lots of little friends in the daycare at the gym we go to. Malachi and I are such little creepers....there is a tv showing the daycare in the gym and we will just stand there watching Roman play with the other kids. It is so cute!
But yea...Pensacola is pretty nice. It is not where I want to live forever but we have made this place home. We have a great church with a wonderful church family, Malachi has a good job, Roman and I have made some good friends, and there is plenty to do here (but anywhere has more stuff to do than Niceville!) So we have about three more years here and then we are off to where ever Malachi gets into dental school!TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-26756435595485724372010-09-17T12:39:00.000-07:002010-09-19T11:07:26.466-07:00Someday....That has to be our favorite word at the moment. There are many things we would like to do someday. There are many things we would like to have someday. We are just not at a position to have them right now. Don't get me wrong...we love our lives. We have so much love in our household it is insane, we all have our health, and Malachi has a job with benefits. So we don't need anything at the moment...although there are many things we would like. For example, I would love to have the money to take some online photography classes or I would love to be able to make my house feel more like a home...my home. Right now all the furniture we have was given to us for free. It is all sturdy and great stuff...but none of it is what I would have picked out. I would like to decorate my whole house the way I want to. I would love to get new towels that aren't stained, or a different comforter that isn't starting to turn a weird color, I would love to get cute living room furniture, I would love a dresser that has drawers that actually work...and things like that. But our money is going to more important places right now like bills, rent, food, and baby stuff. Which is all VERY important. And I mean...I could get a credit card and buy a bunch of stuff I would like but Malachi and I have sworn that we would never go into debt. Right now the only thing we are having to pay off is our car and that was a necessity. But other than that....we have no debt. And we are going to keep it that way. I have to say that I'm excited that one of our 'someday's is going to come true! We are going on our honeymoon in December. We are going to Disney World! I am SO excited. My parents are going to come stay with Roman and Malachi and I get a whole week of enjoying each other. I am so excited. So one 'someday' is checked off our list! Do you have any 'someday' wishes you are looking forward to?TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-77494423187226121532010-08-26T19:02:00.000-07:002010-08-26T20:15:53.259-07:00I hate titles...I can't believe we have less than a month till Roman turns 1! He is growing up so fast! It won't be long till he is walking. He can stand...I've seen him do it...but he doesn't like it. He has hit every milestone before walking so now we just wait. He has always waited to do things like sitting up, crawling, pulling up, and everything else till he is sure he can really do it. He doesn't like to practice till he gets it right...he likes to get it right the first time. But I'm not in any hurry for him to walk. Not because I feel like he is going to get into more stuff...but once he starts walking he won't be a baby...he will be a toddler! *Tear* But seriously...cutest baby EVER! He is obsessed with phones right now. He always steals my cellphone and calls all my friends. He can say hello now...even though it doesn't sound like 'hello' but I understand him. Isn't that how is always is? You can only understand your own child's language. I still can only understand a few things Roman says like 'hello' 'mama' and 'dada'. But when he talks on the phone he puts the phone to his ear...ok...more like his chin...but I count it. We have so much fun together. He is starting to play more by himself...doesn't happen often...but it does happen sometimes. When it does I feel like a bad mother. I feel like I should be playing with him and be with him 24/7 but I get reminded that it is good for him to learn how to play on his own. So now when he starts playing on his own, I take a step back and not get involved and just observe.
Anyways...I've started planning for Roman's birthday. After the party I'll post millions of pictures for you to pour over!
Here are a few pictures of my baby love before I go:

<img style="display: block; I'm watching all of our normal Sunday night shows and really wishing Malachi was here with me. So I'm going to eat ice cream and fold laundry to keep myself busy!TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-84955832653051334562010-07-31T13:59:00.001-07:002010-07-31T14:16:09.382-07:00LatelyI haven't posted in a while. Whenever I have free time I'm on the computer editing photos. I am having wayyyy too much fun with it! I'm pretty proud of the work I'm doing now...especially considering that I just started to get serious about all this about a month ago! It is the first hobby that I've really enjoyed. I've tried soooo many other things like scrapbooking, knitting, painting, and baking (and although I love it if I did it all the time I would get fat!). I can't get enough of photography though! I love capturing all those special moments...and who wouldn't when you got the cutest little model in the world :-) One of my friends, Vanessa, is going to come out here sometime next month and model for me. I want to branch out a little bit plus it will be nice to have someone who can sit still for more than a second or two to practice on. And that is what I need....a lot of practice! Yesterday, when I went outside to take pictures of Roman, I didn't look at what the ISO was set at so all my pictures turned out wayyy to bright (yes...don't I sound so intelligent with all this photography talk...pish posh) I still forget that all the settings on the camera need to work together. I guess I'm still in the habit of shooting in auto mode that I forget to check all my settings. But not anymore...well...I'm sure it will happen again...but I'm going to get better! I'm kinda bummed right now because we were all going to go to the park once Roman woke up from his nap to take pictures but now I hear a thunderstorm rolling in. :-( I want to practice practice practice! I could go with Roman tomorrow while Malachi is at work...but it would be easier to have him with me. We will see...but here are a few pictures I took yesterday (with my new 50mm f/1.8 lens!)

TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-33545460525550261902010-07-19T18:12:00.001-07:002010-07-19T18:17:04.979-07:00I HATE BUGS!!!!!!!!!UGH! I'm trying to kill this really nasty HUGE beetle hanging out on the curtains in my living room. I'm trying to kill him with febreeze and it is not working. I can hardly breathe now because my house smeels like "winds and springtime". He crawled behind them and I'm seriously considering getting something long and ruining my curtains by smooshing him! BLAH! We have been having a bug problem...everyday there is something new. Thankfully yesterday Malachi found the roach and not me. Roaches make me melt down. Imagine the worst temper tantrum you've seen a two year old make at the store...that is me when I see a roach! I FREAKING HATE BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-60550253941483125472010-07-18T09:34:00.000-07:002010-07-18T09:42:47.803-07:00Big blueThe ONLY good thing about living in our apartment is that we have a pool. Roman and I (and Malachi whenever he can) go to the pool almost every other day. Roman loves the water! He will either sit in his floaty or lounge in my arms splashing the water with his feet. It is also a convenient way for us to get out of the house without hopping in the car and going somewhere. The pool is the only thing I'm going to miss from this horrible horrible place (okay...I may exaggerate...but it still isn't the best place to live in the world) when we move out in October!

TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-20511431412365494642010-07-16T20:25:00.000-07:002010-07-16T20:37:02.604-07:00LalalalaAs I go throughout my day I always think of tons of ideas to blog about, but when I actually come and sit in front of the computer my mind goes blank!
I wish it wasn't so stinking hot outside! I've really gotten into photography and photoshop and I want to go outside with Roman and have some mini photo shoots. But first we live in an apartment so I can't just go in the backyard because there isn't a backyard...I have to hop in the car and go somewhere. Plus I only know of one park so far here in Pensacola that we can go to that is about 15 minutes away. So it becomes a huge deal...plus it is hot...so we would only spend like 30 minutes out there because we would be miserable! I wish isn't wasn't so hot! Oh Florida...I'm actually excited about moving up north in a few years. It will be a good change!
I went through my wardrobe this week and got rid of tons of my old stuff! I got rid of things that don't fit anymore and things that aren't me. I have so many clothes that I have out of convenience and then whenever I wear them I don't feel like myself. So I got rid of those and everything that has holes or stains in them. So now I have NO winter clothes. I'm going to need to save up all my clothing money for the next few months so I can be warm this winter!
Roman stood up on his own yesterday! Totally blew my mind! He is growing up way too fast! The next thing is walking! I'm not ready for that!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh today we were watching AFV while we were eating dinner (oh yes...I get bad mother of the year! We NEVER do that but today we did...please don't judge me!) and only clip came on where a little girl had drawn all over here face and Roman started to crack up! It was the cutest thing! I love to hear him laugh.
Well...on that note...here are two pictures I edited today. I took these two in RAW format (which I will be doing from now on. My husband even bought me a bigger memory card so I don't have to worry about how many pictures I'm taking!)

TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071172797158332954.post-3435158418642123442010-07-12T18:05:00.000-07:002010-07-12T18:44:37.019-07:00Don't have any pictures :-(I haven't been able to take any pictures for the past couple days because I wasn't able to load my pictures from the camera to the computer because they were in raw format. Malachi was able to fix it for me! He is amazing! He can fix anything for me!
My best friend Julie came and saw us today! It was so great to see her! Roman showed off for her of course. He was a little grumpy when she first got here because he didn't have a great nap, but as soon as he ate he was his happy normal self. He crawled around for her (I need to take a video for you to see!) and was pulling up on EVERYTHING. When I say everything I mean everything...the wall, the vacuum, the entertainment center, the chairs, and anything else he could get his hands on. He showed her how he can eat and eat and eat and eat and how messy he can get when he eats. He showed her that he is a professional raspberry blower. He showed her how he can swim in a pool and talk and say mama. He showed her how he can sign all done when he is done eating. He walked in his walker for her. He showed her that he is the most amazing baby in the world! I am so blessed that I get to see him and be with him every single day!TinaRinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15150719036339042479noreply@blogger.com0
